The City Protectorate has deployed a counter attack, which includes several seasoned Guardians along with fresh graduates, to push back the invaders who threaten our (unstable) way of life. Those stationed on resource-rich outer worlds are encouraged to increase production to the maximum sustainable levels, shipping cargo directly to the newly constructed Andaman station terminal 7 for processing and delivery. Only through a unified front will we push back our enemies, only by utilizing all our resources will we achieve great things… our best days are yet to come. We will survive. We will not falter. private memory access -77.4 Virginia continues to surprise me. She is a powerful woman indeed, CFO of the largest technology, commodities and distribution corporation in the solar system. And yet, she is entertained by Gheritt's crude and immature ideas regarding the future of human civilization. As a business move, I can understand why the prospect of new acquisitions and markets would be compelling… but Gheritt is only interested in business ventures in so far as it helps him attain his goals of seeing mankind among the stars. Virginia must know this is a fools errand… there are no stock markets in Alpha Centauri, and why would there be? The markets for food, clothing, or even housing… these are all invented human constructs, they have no value until humans give them value. Virginia must understand this, as the Traxus corporation is no doubt an expert in telling humans what they should value, so perhaps she is playing at something I do not yet understand… perhaps she sees Gheritt a means to an end. Or, perhaps, she truly does love him. end private memory access -77.4 File found, unknown audio source playback initializing Lord Gheritt personal log, fourth cycle of October, 19th Golden Age Another strange occurrence, but this time no random blips on our radar. One of my engineers told me about a pattern he was noticing that was recurring with repair cycles. Every one of our stations that has gone dark has gone dark for approximately 56 minutes. WIthin those 56 minutes, communications go silent but we still channel signals through them, signals that we cannot decipher, signals that we do not understand. Signals that we only pick up on when repair teams remove the hard drive data from the signal satellites. This is confusing. But it looks like the pattern my engineer discovered is more important, because the repairs have been at regular intervals. Every 4 days and 15 hours and 46 minutes, the cycle begins at a random station. But what I fear more is this, while the 56 minute signals run, there is no radar within those radiuses, and so I wonder what happens in the darkness where our eyes cannot see, and where light does not reach and where truth cannot be found. end personal log public memory access -4003 Guardians continue to scour our solar system in search of clues regarding the nature of our silent benefactor, the Traveler. 7 years ago, a fireteam of three huntresses were tasked with exploring the moons of Saturn and Jupiter for exactly this purpose. Two have recently returned, and have brought back vital information regarding the locations of several buried hydrogen-rich deposits that are suitable for mining. City Officials will begin recruiting for those mining projects soon. In addition, the fireteam has brought back countless artifacts, of unknown origin, that scientists at Twilight Gap facility have begun analyzing. The fireteam urges all citizens to be vigilant when traveling throughout our solar system, and report any signs of unusual activity to City Protectorate officials. With your help, attacks can be mediated, and humanity's Golden Age will continue through countless more cycles. end public memory access -4003 public memory access 9 A variety of interviews with one, David Dague a.k.a. DeeJ have surfaced which indicate very little about the current state of affairs in our solar system. Yet, David continues to be interviewed. Curious, how one individual with so little information continues to garner so much publicity. Perhaps it is his dashing good looks, or suave demeanor. Regardless, he generally speaks positively about our worlds and humanity's future within it. For this, his interviews are a welcomed voice among the abundant radio silence heard throughout most of our solar system. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/09/04/destiny-bungie-on-customization-class-types-and-multiplayer/ http://www.gameovercast.co.uk/index.php?id=news&db3=157 end public memory access 9 File found, unknown audio source playback initializing Lord Gheritt personal log, fourth cycle of September, 19th Golden Age Another company has been acquired, and I am one step closer to my vision. But this was disturbing. Thoughts have been dwelling on my mind, and now they have surfaced in a way that I cannot ignore. The last company we acquired was one that produced cryogenic freezing gels. A trivial product if you ask me, but something that we will need in the future. However, the CEO walked in, he entered my office and simply left a pile of books on my desk. The look on his face was one of agony but anger as well. And I feel he was attempting to send a message. The first book on the pile was Machievli's el principe, a harsh political guidebook that outline measures to be taken to rule over kingdoms. Evidently he thought he to be some form of dictator. But then so strangely underneath those there were children's books. Everything from the jungle book to hansel and gretle. Then finally underneath those, some twenty hardbacks, all finely printed and old, musty. There was one small paperback, a copy of Yeate's poetry, his collected works. And then there was one page bookmarked. "Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths, Enwrought with golden and silver light, The blue and the dim and the dark cloths Of night and light and the half-light, I would spread the cloths under your feet: But I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly because you tread on my dreams." Now I think I understand, he was trying to tell me of how many dreams he had, and how I have crushed them all. And yet now I wonder, what is my dream worth, what will I sacrifice to bring its realization. Have I been ruled by hubris all this time? Have I been willing to take and give nothing back? Have I been willing to sacrifice? And how far would I go? Would I destroy something as precious to me as Strauss? Would I sacrifice what little family I have left? I have no friends to speak up, save… no, I will not sacrifice her. There is one thing that I know I will never part with. But now I question, is that Virginia or is that my dream? These thoughts are toxic I must stop. I will figure this out later.
